The engine is a liquid-cooled 12-cylinder. The engine sits on a heavy rolling cart and has a very nice blue/red paint scheme. The paint does have some scratches. The V-1710 series of engines would be used in 60% of military planes at the time including the P-39, P-40, and the P-51A. Many more planes would use the V-1710 but with more power thanks to turbo-superchargers that allowed Allison to get engines to build upwards of 2800hp.
